La Colección Berezdivin inicia a finales de la década del setenta,  cuando Diana y Moisés Berezdivin se involucran en el circuito de galerías internacionales, y comienzan a asistir a ferias y exhibiciones alrededor del mundo. Durante sus primeras décadas, la colección estaba compuesta en su mayoría por arte israelí, puertorriqueño y cubano, mismo que hasta el presente constituye uno de los núcleos más importantes de la colección.
Fue en la década de los noventa que decidieron enfocar la colección hacia el arte latinoamericano, y a partir del año 2000, hacia el arte contemporáneo internacional. Dado este giro, se plantean la posibilidad de inaugurar un espacio abierto al público que no sólo sirva como una extensión de su hogar, sino que forme parte de la oferta cultural de Puerto Rico.
Hoy, la colección se propone como objetivo reunir una representación significativa del arte de finales del siglo XX y comienzos del siglo XXI, con un trasfondo conceptual anclado en algunas obras claves de los 60’s y 70’s,  y un especial énfasis en artistas emergentes de las primeras décadas de este siglo.

The Berezdivin Collection began in the late seventies, when Diana and Moises Berezdivin got involved with the international gallery circuit and began attending fairs and exhibitions around the world. During its first decades, the collection was comprised mainly of Israeli, Puerto Rican and Cuban art, art that remains an important core of the collection to this day.
It was during the nineties that they shifted their interest towards Latin-American art, and since the year 2000, to international contemporary art. Given this shift, they considered the possibility to open a space to the public that worked not only as an extension of their home, but that became part of Puerto Rico’s cultural offer.
Today, the collection aims to gather a significant representation of contemporary art from the late 20^th century and the beginning of the 21^st century, with a conceptual background anchored in some key pieces form the 60’s and 70’s, and a special emphasis in the work of emerging artists from the first decades of this century.
