origin and directions of the Berezdivin Collection

The collection of Diana and Moisés Berezdivin began in the seventies, when the collectors, following their interest in their Jewish heritage started to collect art from Israel. At the same time they also began to collect art from Cuba and Puerto Rico, which became an important direction in the collection. As this group of works from the Caribbean grew, their interest shifted to the rest of the continent and the collection acquires a significant body of work by Latin American artists. to the collection with the intention of providing a universal context to the already existing group of works. Today and in view of its different shifts in focus throughout the years, the collection aims to gather a group of works that are indicative of the major cultural dynamics that have shaped the transition from the 20th century into the 21st. The collection has special interest in the work of emerging artists, so in this sense it is a collection in progress, that reflects many of the changes that are taking place in art today.
